Why Do We Love Our Sprung Floors?

You may know that when we started Dance Daze Dance Boards back in 2020, not all of our portable dance floors were sprung. In fact, for over a year, only 2 of our 5 dance boards were sold as sprung floors.

While we thought that not offering our boards as sprung floors would make the boards even more portable (because they would simply contain less material), we now know that the benefits of sprung floors are so great that we couldn't pass up an opportunity to make all of our dance boards as great as possible for our customers.

Continue reading to learn more about the benefits of dancing on sprung floors.

First, sprung dance floors are one of the best ways to prevent injuries in the joints and muscles for dancers. Sprung floors help to prevent injuries because, instead of absorbing energy, these floors return energy to the body, helping to improve performance.

Second, sprung dance floors reduce fatigue. It is likely that you will feel less tired after dancing on a sprung floor than you would after dancing on a completely hard surface that is not sprung.

Third, sprung floors can provide a perfect balance between hard and soft - they are not so soft that a dancer will need to overwork themselves, but they are not so hard that they will add to one's discomfort in their feet, legs, joints, or tendons. Sprung floors absorb shock, making it safer to dance on sprung floors than on regular floors.

The foam padding that we use at the bottom of Dance Daze Dance Boards has many benefits! For example:

  • Can be used indoors or outdoors
  • Easily cleaned
  • The textured pattern provides traction
  • It is slip resistant
  • It is water resistant
  • It is designed to reduce fatigue
